Will spacers on the front help my clearance issue?
I have a club car ds with a jeep body on it that I'm fixing up. It has an older possibly home made z lift that's about 3 or 4 inches.
23" tires fit on it and drive well, except when making an extreme turn it rubs the bar going up the foot rest area. I noticed the front doesn't stick out quite as much as the rear. Would spacers help or hurt it? I could just leave it alone, it's only very hard turns, but if spacers will help I'll go ahead and add them. |

Based on that picture I can't tell you if Spacers will help or not.
I have used two Z-Lift kits one from Club Car and one from Jakes. Based on how close your tires are to the floorboard, I would say the install might not be right. Can you re-drill the frame, sliding the front section forward an inch or two? Here are a couple picture of mine with the CC lift installed and 23" tires on 12" wheels. And a picture of the lift brackets during installation. Aflyer |

Looks like Aflyers kit pushes the tires out and down. Yors is just down. Looks like you need to scrap the lift you have and get a better one. My $.02

I agree with The Big Weezy, that looks like it might be a home made lift kit. I have never seen anything like that.
I would check out Revolution Golf Cars, and see about getting a new lift kit for your DS. Aflyer |

Since you frame is already cut I would look at jakes z-lift for club cars
It moves it up 4" and forward a couple inches Should give you the room you need. |

His first pic also makes the front wheels look like they are set way back.

I looks like you could replace the homemade zlift with new zlift brackets and solve all of your problems. You may even be able to re-use some of the mounting holes.

Will a a-arm lift also bring the wheels forward? I'm thinking of adding more lift and a wider stance.
Only for looks, it will be driven on pavement 95% of the time. |
