Can the Alltrax controller be rebuilt like the Curtis?

No. And the Curtis cannot be 'rebuilt' either. It can be patched up and sent back into action.

well, I really was leaning towards the Alltrax, but my dealer has a 500amp Curtis Controller he is giving me a smoking deal on that I can not pass up. So, with that being said, what motor should I go with? Or, is it even necessary?
I would like to buy a motor that will also work with an Alltrax controller if and when I decide to pull the trigger on one.

Any motor that works with the Curtis will work with the Alltrax. There are a lot of good choices from Admiral, FSIP, AMD, etc. I'm still doing my own research so others will need to give you the specifics.

BTW, did you find out if the seller will be restricting top speed?

He will not be restricting, but is strongly suggesting not to go past 25 so that I don't kill my battery life. I was told by David at Revolution to go with the Admiral over the D&D because RedHawk makes the Admiral and they are so much easier to deal with over D&D.

That's good news that he will not restrict it. Yes, speed really sucks the juice! Make sure you add a good digital volt meter to keep an eye on the batteries.

I've heard D&D makes great motors but are sometimes not easy to work with. Admiral seems to be very popular right now and they are my front runner as well.

I'm going with this meter.

About $110 too expensive and not very precise. There are tons of meters available either from site sponsors or on the web that will display voltage down to the tenth of a volt.

well, I have no idea when it comes to meters. I was told this is the best and that most of the cheaper meters will leave you stranded.
