Club car will not move
I just bought a 1999 club car 48v. The guy said it needed batteries and has sat for two years. I toped of the batteries with water and charged. I am reading 50 volts but when I press the accelerator it will move about an inch in forward or reverse. Can someone tell me where to start with looking for the problem.

Re: Club car will not move
your batteries are dead

Re: Club car will not move
If it is a Series cart it may also be the Solenoid not closing and having just the Controller capacitor charge available to the motor.

Re: Club car will not move
Test the pack voltage while trying to move. If the voltage drops way low then it's bad batteries. The best load tester there is for golf cart batteries

Re: Club car will not move
Sounds like the OBC has failed. I'm assuming this is a "Series" drive system with the lever operated F&R Switch. If so, proceed with the following test. Get a small jumper wire with alligator clips on both ends. Clip one end to the SMALL solenoid post with the SMALL yellow wire. Clip the other end to the MAIN negative battery post. This is the battery post that has the black wire on it that runs through the small hole in the OBC en route to the controller in the back of the car. With the jumper in place, if the car runs, the OBC has failed.
