Unhappy Full power then super slow crawl!?

Hi all, new to the forum.

I have a 04 Precedent, batteries are 18 months old, charging fully, and reading 100/90. I keep it plugged in and will unplug/replug quite often.

I can play about 16-17 holes of golf at full power, no issues. Then all of a sudden I’ll get back in the cart to go and it’s a sloooooow crawl. Slower than 8 mph. Barely moving. Anyone have any ideas? My local cart shop said my batteries were in great shape and they are scratching their heads on this one. It has happened 3 out of the last 5 rounds I’ve played.

TIA

Can you do the speed sensor test? Try pushing the cart and see if the buzzer sounds and it applies resistance. It could be the cart is going into limp mode. One of the most common reasons is bad sensor.

or broken speed sensor magnet, that's the most common on your issue

I would tend to think a weak cell in ne battery. Load test each battery with volt meter on each battery one at a time while driving cart.

He gets 16-17 holes before it slows. I would think batteries are getting weak.

He also said happened only 3 of the 5 times he's played. I guess I was hoping that the inexpensive, easy fix would be all he needed.

he stated he gets back in and the cart crawls- not a sign of batteries- and batteries wont make the cart run fast then slow. Also they are only 18 months old- yes they could be bad but they must have led a tough life.

Also local golf cart shop checked batteries- not that means much as many have no clue how to check batteries.
