Default 48volt Club Car Precedent is surging a little

I have a 2010 or 2011 48 volt club car precedent that is surging back and forth as you drive it. It's seems you can feel it doing it mostly at top speed where it almost feels as if you were taking your foot off the pedal a little then speeds back up. It also does this at low speeds as well when your just taking off. It's not jerky too bad but more of a slight surge. Any suggestions what this could be? It has a 500amp altrax controller with the stock motor.

Probably the MCOR. Try putting the cart in neutral and pressing the pedal up and down 30 times. Then drive it and see if it’s improved. It’s the most common problem with club car. I put a new MCOR in my cart in February and it’s already acting up because I wasn’t using it too much this summer.

Where is the MCOR located on the cart and is it difficult to change? Thanks for the response as well..

Inside the pedal assembly area. You have to remove the floor mat, remove the 4 (I think) bolts that hold the pedal assembly down, and the MCOR is right there. Contact Dave at

He has the unit you need and will help you via email with any questions during instal etc!

Does the alltrax have an rpm limiter?
Sounds to me like you are hitting rpm limit.
I would look at that before mcor, they are costly.

Thank you. Mine was surging also and I did that (except I did it 50 times to be sure). The cart now feels great.

This sort of scrubs the MCOR contacts clean

Surging is more noticeable if your program has a lot of regen dialed in and an easily attained RPM limit. You can test by dialing back the regen.
