Default At what pack voltage do you replace

I have seen the battery charts and know all those voltages.

I just had a question about what makes you decide it’s time to replace batteries? Is there a resting pack voltage that you say is low enough? Is it only when the cart will not run well till the end of a day with how you use it?

Just curious. My new cart, which I knew going in had older batteries and it was priced accordingly, has a resting pack voltage of 49.9. So far the cart runs well as long as I have needed it. But I am kinda anal about my toys and cars/trucks and tend to over maintain them. So I don’t mind replacing before their time. But I would rather save the cash for a nlittle while if possible if what I have will be decent for a little while longer.

Ps. I have 2gauge cables, 500 amp controller, and solenoid to put in. Just haven’t done it yet.

Mine (US Battery 4x12's) are 7+ years old and still get me all I need and want. I will not replace them (or others I had) until they cannot meet the need I place upon them. It generally comes down to the amp hours or duration/distance as opposed to actual voltage as with age they tend to drop the voltage faster as they get towards the life cycle end.

And with your new controller and higher demand, you will see if they have any issues. Kind of like increasing cylinder pressure and the octane rating still at 87 R+M/2, if you can relate to that....

According to other advice I have seen on the forum (from Scottyb I think), 42 volts is the minimum voltage under load for a 48V system. So it is useful to have an accurate voltage meter displaying as the cart runs (otherwise you might find that you don't get home one day).
