I'm not sure if that one is fully automatic or not. Maybe someone with more knowledge on that charger will chime in, but I think all 48 volt Club Car had OBC' S. Either way when you first use it keep it monitored.

Don't use that one for a 48v cart! Accu-Power chargers were fully automated and only for 36v golf carts that I know of. And looking at the picture, that is a 36v plug attached to that charger..... (The 48VDC you see on the back is what its capable of and needed to fully charge a pack. Just like Powerdrives will go to 60VDC)
If it is something different then we will hear it from someone. And mgray you are correct on all the Powerdrive series (1, 2 & 3) chargers. |

That is an old school Ferro-resonant charger, it will work but they are not the best for maintaining the pack.

Re: Is this as fast as it will go .?.!.?.!..
I appreciate the advice ... This golf cart stuff seems like an expensive hobby. Sounds like I may be best served to sell the charger and drive it with 36 volts. I’m not trying to invest 2k + on a 1990 golf cart. I’m looking to upgrade on a budget. Seems like that is not gonna happen. I’d rather fix this cart up sell it and buy a new cart that is 48volts. Lol.... will this charger work on my current 36volt set up ?

That is a 48v charger and it only works for 48v carts.

OK, I'm sure Threewheelmotion is thoroughly confused - I know I am.
Nole is a great guy and usually offers excellent advice but in this case if Sergio says different to Nole, I think I'd believe Sergio. |

You can see the "48v output" on the charger nameplate (2nd picture).
Club car never used a Ferro-Resonant 48v charger, as mentioned before, they used the much more advanced OBC charging system, but it would work. The Ferro-Resonant is 1950's technology and has no algorithms or "programs" to adjust the charge, it is not a good choice for a primary charger. |
