old batteries & needing education
So I've got 6 year old Sam's batteries, and yes I know they need to be replaced.
They all charge to 6.5 volts, and most all show a specific gravity of around 1.275, with a couple of cells at 1.250. But the run time is awful and the charger runs for 8-9 hours and won't shut off. So what happens to batteries? If they are sulfated I would think the specific gravity would not be a good as it is. Or maybe 1.275 isn't so good? I am interested in your opinions - don't "flame" me here, just looking for a little education. Thanks, Dave |
