Default Installing mcor4

I have looked in the stickies but dont see a step by step instructions on how to replace mcor. My cart is a 2003 series, 48v. I purchased a mcor4 from David.
Can someone post a link or explain the process. I've read where its a 20 minute job, but I'm mechnically inept, and I spent 20 minutes just looking at old mcor.
So some help sure would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Mike,

If David sold you the MCOR 4, then yours had the conversion from V-Glide to MCOR already.

Looking underneath the passenger side, the MCOR is mounted to the side rail. There are two wiring plugs connected to it. If this is the case, continue as follows.

If you have a set of automotive ramps to drive the front wheels of the cart up on, it makes it much easier to gain access. Do not attempt to do it with only a jack. Use 2 jack stands with the jack if necessary.

First unplug the two wiring plugs. They are different sizes and they can't be connected wrong.

Then get a Torx bit driver the correct size to fit the two Torx screws that hold the MCOR to the side rail. [I can't remember the size Torx bit needed. It is worthwhile to buy a set of Torx bits for many automotive items.] Remove the screws completely.

Pull the old MCOR away from the shaft then slide the new one back onto the shaft. You may need to wiggle it a bit to get the "D" shaped slot to line up with the shaft.

Then reinstall the Torx screws, plug the plugs back in and you're ready to try it out.

Good luck!

Did you buy just an MCOR4? Or did you buy the conversion kit? A 2003 series car would need the AM293101 conversion kit, which includes an MCOR4 and all of the necessary brackets and wire adapter to put it on your cart. It also comes with a copy of factory instructions.

I have the conversion kit with it. It has mcor, a shaft, a spring, wiring and screws. No installation instructions.

That changes things. It is simple to replace an existing MCOR4 but the kit is a bit more involved and will require laying under the cart. Auto ramps will be the best and safest for this process.

If you follow the instruction carefully, you should be able to do it though. The holes are already there to mount the kit to the side rail.

I'm sure David can get you the installation instructions, or a link to them.

If I left out the instructions, I apologize. Email me and I'll send you a PDF copy.
