Keeping Shocks with HD Leaf Springs
I'm thinking about keeping my shocks after I install my HD Rear Leaf Springs. Is that possible? I think it would be less trouble than removing them because of access to the top nut. Any thoughts ?

Absolutely keep them. They dampen the rebound rate. I would not take them off. Some may but I wouldn’t.

It will bounce like a pogo stick without them. Shouldn’t have to touch the top shock nut when changing the springs.

Re: Keeping Shocks with HD Leaf Springs
There is so little flex with the hd leaf springs that the shocks don't really serve a purpose unless there is a heavy load on them. I installed hd springs and new shocks and the ride was so rough I thought my spine was going to be shoved through the top of my head. I removed shocks and it was still rough. I removed the overload leaf and the ride became bearable. Load does play a factor but 90% of the time it's just me on the cart. As the springs wear I am sure I will be putting the shocks back on.

Re: Keeping Shocks with HD Leaf Springs
You should replace them with Monroe 31176's.
