Default Lithium Conversion

I have a 2014 Bad Boy Instinct 72volt and would like some information on Lithium Conversions. The Instinct is 2wheel drive and I use it a lot the current 6 twelve volt batteries are still working but with hunting season coming up soon in Texas I am considering changing batteries.

Any input would be appreciated

Mike

There are a lot of us using kits from EV Battery Center in Las Vegas. They should be able to build a 72V system with enough usable Ah to match your current FLA pack. Be forewarned, it will be expensive! I went with a 60Ah (50 usable) pack which is lower than a 170Ah (85Ah usable) FLA pack and it cost me about $1750 delivered. Your 6V batteries are likely over 200Ah or 100 usable. My guess is a 72V Lithium pack that big with BMS and charger would be over $3500.

As long as your wallet can handle it, the conversion is fairly straight forward.

I should have mentioned that the 72v instinct uses 6 twelve volt batteries.

Just heard EV Battery in Vegas is not able to produce anything at this time. Not sure why.

I wonder what has happened with EV. Their website has shown no stock of any product for several weeks.

So the reason EV isn't able to produce, is because the person who does all there BMS set up and balancing of the packs has been really sick and out for a while. They don't have an exspected return date for him. They will sell you the cells alone but won't sell any BMS or DIY complete kits because they have no one to balance the cells or set up the BMS. They offered to refund my money yesterday.
