That ball bearing fell out of one of the drilled holes in the carb. It's used to plug part of the hole. I had that happen to a Merc outboard years ago. It would not run on the two cyl supplied by that carb until I found it and returned it to it's hole. Find out where it went and replace it or your carb will not work correctly.

Ok we'll this explains why the cart wont run with air filter connected and is shouldn't fuel everywhere. I still have the ball but don't know where to stick it.

Ok thanks for this post. I went out to look at my old carb and saw where it went. Kind a just sits in the hole like you said but upside down. So I removed the carb , put it in hole, and then gave it a few taps with hammer and a nail so it's lodged in there pretty good. Put her back together and it's running like a champ. If it weren't for your post, I woulda been screwed and not know where to go next.
Also, just for the heck of it, I checked my compression and its a little low. 150 psi while cold and then about 140 psi warmed up. I put some oil in cylinder and it went up to 175. Any thoughts? I'm definitely not gonna rebuild engine right now because the thing runs good and strong and for all I know, in the 10 years I have had it, I couldn't been this low for a long time. I could try to throw some of that compression restore in the crank case from pep boys. What you think? Anyone successfully raise compression with an additive.
