G2 cheap lift or spacers
Hi Guys. I'm a newbie obviously but am the proud owner of a very custom and well kept G2. It's a 4 seater and when my mother-in-law gets on the back - well...let's just say I don't want her to get embarressed. Can you help me lift it a couple inches very quckly and cheaply so we don't have to ask her to get off and walk?
Someone suggested to me using square tube and then putting a smaller one inside of that. Does that make sense? Has anyone done that before? If so can you post pictures so I can get a better idea. Again - not looking for an off road style lift ....just want to add a couple inches more length before things "bottom out". Help! |

Re: G2 cheap lift or spacers
You probably don't need a lift as much as you need a heavier spring on the shock. I had the same problem so I put heavy duty springs on the rear shocks. It makes the ride stiffer with nobody on the rear seat but made the cart a whole lot more controllable and had very little sag when somebody was on the back. This kit will fit even if it doesn't say so. You just need a slight grind on the edge of the shock so that the spring will slip over.

Re: G2 cheap lift or spacers
like nastycar does you can add rubber spacers
they stick in-between the coils to stiffen the spring plus they can be added or removed as needed an other way is overload metal spring stretchers they have nuts you can turn to increase or lessen the effect of stretching the springs both allow a return to stock spring rates when not hauling extra people BTW i like a softer ride |
