Default Speakers on body facing up?

Trying to find the easiest and cheapest option for installing some marine 6.5” speakers I have. Since the front of the body by the shifter is not flat on the G29, was thinking of cutting holes just behind the front seats, they would be facing straight up. Think that would work? I don’t think the seats will muffle sound much. And they are decent speakers that will be powered by a decent BT amp.

Thoughts before I drimmel?

Best I can do without being home. That marked up spot. Both sides, would face up.

There is some pics around here of what your talking about, not sure where that thread is. They did say some thing about the speakers holding water mounted like that. That's the only problem I see .

If water will not damage your speakers, you will have to remove it or the sound will be terrible... A real PITA!

Snap in grills. If the bass doesn’t pop the water out, I can remove the grills and dry. Plus rare for me to use in the rain. More interested in will it sound ok?
