I have a question maybe you guys could answer. Yamaha G2's have the rear axle welded together -- flange to axle. The bearing has to be replaced by cutting the flange weld on a lathe removing the flange to replace the axle bearing. Are the axles in the late models with the removable hubs fit in a G2 housing?

I don't think so. Your talking Yamaha verses Dana/Spicer. The axles shafts are all differant lengths. I dought the later axles would match up the splined end into the diff either.

It was just a thought. After building so many other types of gearboxes I find the outer axle bearing is smaller then I'd like. I gotta find out what my local machine shop charges to cut splines on an axle shaft. I can do all the other shaft work in my own shop.
