G9 electrical issue
just got my basket case g9 running after rebuilding the engine, (and reassembling the cart) alot of it was in totes from previous owner.
During my test drive, i had a bit of a electrical fire... for some reason, power decided to use my shift cables as a ground source. One of the shift cables was laying on the right rear engine mount, and it melted the shift cable, followed by the rubber in the engine mount catching fire.... why did it do this? is there supposed to be a ground from the chassis (or battery) to the engine or engine mounts? i did notice that there is a fuse on the power side and the ground side of the harness. mine does not have a fuse on the ground side. what is the purpose of the fuse on the ground side? never seen that before. |
