Break down what you got going on. His post is 4 yrs old. I haven't heard of one not priming but I suppose its not beyond the realm of possibilities.

Re: oil pump prime
I picked up this 97 ezgo workhorse with a rebuilt robin 295cc. The previous owner couldn't get oil pressure and the price was right, thought I'd take a shot at it. I've been through the whole motor top to bottom and can't figure out why it won't keep prime. New oil pump gears, filter, O rings, and I made a new oil pump cover out of 1/8" steel. I can get pressure if I fill the pressure sensor port full with oil, but it only lasts about 5 min or so. I am using a oil pressure gauge. Any help/ thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Re: oil pump prime
I'm not sure about the pressure since my pressure sensor is not hooked up. I also have a 97 with a 350 that I rebuilt several months ago.

Are you sure that the check ball is in place?

Re: oil pump prime
Yes I totally dismantled the engine and checked every possible thing I could think of. If I prime the oil pun it will keep 25psi for about 5 min or so.

Re: oil pump prime
Could you take the valve cover off and run it to see if oil is making it to the top of the head?
