Question Batteries ? for 91 marathon

Hi All! I'm a newbie to owning a golf cart. I've seen clubcarts & ezgo's with 2eight volt and 4 six volt batteries in them. Is this highly recommended and worth anything? I have 36 volt charger and was wondering now that I am in need of batteries should I replace it like this or do normal set up? If you could reply back to me at my email account at rrimback@gmail.com. Thank you very much Rob!

Welcome to BGW

2 eight volt or 4 six volt batteries isn't normal. Many moons ago you might have seen 4 six volts but they quit doing that years ago. (24 volts). If you have a 36 volt cart and a 36 volt charger you need to have 36 volt worth of batteries. (6 six volt batteries.) A 91 ezgo takes 6 six volt batteries.

It is not recommended to mix 6 and 8 volt batteries in a pack. They have different charging needs.
