Default New Owner--Lift kits ??

Hello
Well I am not only new to the forum but I also recently purchased my first ever golf cart. It is a gas ez go 2006 TXT and we mainly use it around the yard and on some well groomed trails. I am thinking I would like to put a 4 or 5 inch lift kit on it and realize there are different types of kits ? At this time I really don't want to spend $500 or $600 on a kit , wheels and tires. So the question is --if I put a lift kit on it now can I still use the stock tires and wheels for the time being ? Or do you need off set wheels and bigger tires with all kits ?
It has 18x8.60-8 's on it now. Any and all info will help because I obviously don't know much about golf carts.

Thanks
Mike T

You could go with a moderate 3 inch spindle lift from Jake's and that would allow up to 22 inch tires later.

It's ugly as hell but you can (as far as I know) use stock wheels and tires. I lifted mine with a drop axle in front with soa with blocks in the rear and I still have some ugly 8 inch white rims on all four.

i just put a 5" lift on mine and bought 22" tires and used the factory wheels and painted them black. Unfortunately with the stock wheels and bigger tires i had to buy 1 1/2" spacers all the way around to clear the swing arm and shocks and front suspension.

Waiting another week before i can continue.
