Default Slippage, belt or clutch?

I'm having some trouble with slippage. Not starting out but more like when I'm up to speed a little bit. I gets a little noisey but not the jerky movement I would expect with belt slippage. If I let go...it seems to catch, quiet down, and move more efficiently.

Would you expect this is the clutch? If its the clutch, can it be adjusted are do you have to replace it? Since I am also looking to do a hp upgrade...is there a beefier unit I should consider?

thank you!

Put the back on stands and observe the clutches as you increase engine speed. I am willing to bet that as speed increase the driven clutch opens too wide and the belt drops onto the spindle. If this is the case and if everything else is good then you can just get a replacement spring. For a more torquey action you can either get a stronger spring of shim it out.

Also check the width of your belt.

Thanks guys will do that and post up shortly. I'm doing a tune up and once over before deer season as we drive it fairly deep into the woods and I don't want to be stranded! The belt seems to have a lot of play so i have a feeling its just stretched out. It doesn't look like there is any provision for tightening the belt.

Belt width is 1.154"

Is there a stronger aftermarket one available?
