Bad OBC after programming Alltrax controller? possible?
Dang it....Maybe a coincidence...I tweeked the programming in my Altlrax Controller last Saturday. I was successful in adding the plug break to give some breaking when I let off the goPedal. For whatever reason, I forgot to plug into the charger. Note that it worked the day before and even that morning.
So here I am today, saw it not plugged and did so. Nada, nothing. I checked the power to the plug and confirmed the breaker was tripped. So I am wondering if I may have done something when programming the controller or dumb luck. So now it is troubleshooting time. OBC suddenly go bad, something else? If I remember right, there is a couple of ways that you can bypass the OBC and determine if that is bad. One way was to jump the charger from point to point - not sure where that post was that I read and can't seem to find it. Then there was something else I thought I read that would let you bypass the OBC directly. Probably to soon to ask about OBC replacement vs. buying one of the fancier chargers that has all the smarts built in. Probably a cost trade off and or preference any ways. So if someone could point in the right direction...would appreciate it(as always). |

how about we start off with the pack volts , do you have a friend with another charger you can try to see if that is it, you can try a OBC reset, and yes you can bypass the OBC, there is alot of things to try, start with the easy stuff first, when is the last time you charged the cart?

Re: Bad OBC after programming Alltrax controller? possible?
Thanks Steve - what size wire to jump the OBC on the cart?
I'll take the charger to the place I bought the cart from to try on another cart to test that. Jumping the charger? I assume same size wire? Is that a fused(15) black to white jump here to test for a bad breaker? This is exactly what I was looking for. |
