Default What is the name of this part?

So just yesterday I picked up a project cart…..my first cart. It’s a 2000 EZGO 6 passenger cart. The batteries are less than a year old and I only paid 1k for it. That being said, she needs help. The first and most important part I have to deal with is something that has to be welded. I can’t for the life of me find the name of the part. It’s where the rear leaf spring attached to what I though was the hanger. However, I can’t find the part so I must be way off on the name of it. I have a photo so if anyone can help me on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Is that cart lifted with an aftermarket (or factory) lift kit?

That appears to be some sort of homemade lift. The front of your springs should go where that part is bolted to the chassis. It will ruin your springs if left in. If it hasn't already.

Which 6 passenger cart? EZGO made several varieties, Shuttle 6. Bellhop 6, Shuttle 954E and PCX 954 to name a few.

Post a few pics of cart showing body configuration.

I was thinking it’s some kind of odd lift kit

The is for the replies guys. I believe it’s the Shuttle. That’s what the plate says anyways. Again, I just bought this the day I posted this post so I literally know nothing about it other than that the batteries are less than a year old. I know it needs work and I am ok with that, I just want to get it structurally sound first and foremost. Thank you again in advance.

Here are a couple manuals that may help.

2000 was a changeover year, so your cart might have axle mount steering or frame mounted steering.

The parts manual doesn't show that part, so it is most likely an aftermarket, or homemade lift as suggested.

Thanks so much for this brother. That being said, this looks like it would act to lower the rear no? Bring the end of the springs lower wouldnt cause the cart to lift would it?

The bracket in question doesn't change the height of the spring end off the ground, it changes the height of the cart's frame and body off the spring end, so it is lifting the cart.

Ok, understood. now for your personal input. Should I pay someone to weld it or should I get a decent lift kit and get rid of that crap?
