Re: 1998 Carryall VI Transaxle Rebuild, Any Help??
Well I got the other gears out and Im not really pleased with my findings.. Think I need a new input shaft.. It looks like the input shaft was coming out of its place... If you look at the casing you can see where it was scraping, It also damaged the bottom of the input shaft, Look at pics below... I think I need to order the shaft and I mine as well put new syncros since it all has to come off anyways...
Please look at pics and if you see anything that don't look good , Please let me know... Thanks, Ant... Heres the case , Look how it got chewed up. Look what it did to the input shaft. Had to be lift up out of place.. I am also going to replace the lower gear that catches the govener, Looks a little beet up from hitting the case... Let me know your thoughts guys, Thanks, Ant... |

Re: 1998 Carryall VI Transaxle Rebuild, Any Help??
Hello Again,
I have been looking at the diagram and it looks like what got destroyed is a guide, not really the input shaft.. I didn't see the guide in the case at all, Did it get so torn up that it is completely gone? Am I correct here? Not really sure... Can someone post a diagram for me here, I can't seem to post mine.. On my diagram it is # 37 and the part # is 1018894-01 Thanks, Ant... |

Re: 1998 Carryall VI Transaxle Rebuild, Any Help??
Ant-Knee,
Wish I would have seen this post sooner. If you're having trouble with the rebuild, you can ship the center chunk to me and I'll rebuild it for you. I don't hang out in the gas side of the forum much but I've been an avid member in the electric section for quite a few years not. I'm a former service manager from an authorized Club Car dealer. I worked there for 15 years before I started my own business last year. I've fixed thousands of these transaxles and yours definitely looks to be in good enough condition to be fixed. I don't think it has any serious damage. Send me a PM if you're interested. |

Re: 1998 Carryall VI Transaxle Rebuild, Any Help??
Well Im kind of in there now... LOL.
Appreciate the offer tho, If I get it back together and it does not work , It will be coming your way... Doesn't really seem to bad to do tho... This is the first one Ive ever got into.. The metal in the bottom of this input shaft threw me off being this is the first ive done... Previous owner must have tried to rig this thing instead of fixing it the correct way... Im guessing the plastic guide that was in their originally must have gave out and failed and instead of replacing that guide, looks like he tried to make his own guide with this metal crap in the bottom of the shaft causing even further damage to the casing instead..... Thanks, Ant... |
