Default Amperage draw from RHOX LED lights

I have a RHOX LED light kit installed on my 2013 Precedent. No turn signals or horn, just the front and rear lights. What amperage do these lights draw when on?

The reason I ask is that the 48v 100ah lithium battery I will be receiving soon only has max of 8A available from the 12v terminals. I would like to install a USB port for charging my phone and possible additional accessories without having to install a separate voltage reducer, as long as I can keep the draw from the 12v terminals at or below 8A.

I would measure it with an ammeter. 8 amps isn't much. At 12V, 8 amps is only 100W.

Should be pretty low but depends on how many watts they are. If you have a meter with an amp check you could tell.

I agree - measuring with an amp meter is the only way to know, but yikes if your wanting all that on 8a max you really might be pushing it. My USB port for charging my phone is 5a by itself. The biggest concern I have is you said “other accessories” and your not leaving yourself much headroom to expand.

But why not just buy a reducer? They are super convenient. Ive really only seen where separate batteries makes sense for really high amperage draws like running a compressor for air bags or a monster stereo, otherwise they aren’t worth the hassle.

So on a 12V circuit with 8 amps max you have 96watts to play with.
There should be a listing somewhere on the advertisement, box or tag for the light(s) for what wattage range is needed to power them.
LEDs are very forgiving when it comes to power range needed to operate them, You may notice a tag on the product, especially lights, stating the usable range.
Keep in mind, if something says "5A" required it means potential max draw.
You should check actual load draw if you think you are going to be close on max wattage draw.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. Just purchased a reducer and fuse block.

This will give me options if I want to install additional accessories in the future.

I think you’ll be happy with the result, I’m still glad I made the switch several years later.

I purchased a meter at the same time I purchased the voltage reducer.

I pulled apart an existing blade connection on the blue wire between the lights and the positive battery terminal. Placed a multimeter probe on each side of the blade connector and turned on the lights.

The meter read 0.2A.

Is that fuse for the reducer or the lights themselves? 48 volt or 12?

Not sure what fuse you are talking about, because I don't see one in the photo. There is a inline fuse on blue positive wire.

There is currently no reducer.
