Default G14 carb settings

Just got a 1996 g14 and smells like it is running rich. Does anyone no the factory settings for the carb or how to lean it out a bit?

The main jet on your carb. is fixed and not adjustable! Your carb.,however, does have a pilot jet which is adjustable and mainly affects the low (near idle) speed mixture. If your cart is running ok, I wouldn't go by how it smells, but would maybe take a look at the spark plug color to see if it might be running rich. Another item to check would be your air cleaner to see if it might need to be replaced. A good starting point on the pilot jet, if you really need to adjust it, would be 1 1/2 turns out from lightly seated. See how it runs. Screw it in for leaner and out for richer. I wouldn't go out or in more than 1/2 turn from the initial 1 1/2 turns. Again, I wouldn't adjust it if it's running good !! If it ain't broke - don't fix it. RAY
