I'm second what Cart Around said. "I'm concerned that you tapped the new pump housing. You could have punctured the new diaphragm". Open the pump and check the diaphragm. And where/what is the "back of the carb" you talk about?

Absolutely did not puncture fuel pump, I was aware of not damaging fuel pump before tapping and watching for fileings , it's dripping out of where the air intake hooks up (tube) back of carb.

Where are the reed valves exactly? Are they in the motor? This must be my problem, I can't belive 2 new fuel pumps, and 3 new carbs are my issues? Thanks.

More info on reeds please?

See the elbow that your carburetor is mounted to? The reed valves are in a square block on the other end of that elbow. It's bolted to the cylinder.

They are steel tabs mounted in an aluminum block. When the piston moves downward, they open, and allow the fuel air mixture into the cylinder.

When the piston moves upward, they are forced closed for an airtight seal.
If they don't close for an airtight seal, the fuel air mixture is blown back into the carburetor, and air cleaner.

Pull off the carburetor, and place your hand over the opening while cranking it over.
You should only feel sucking. No blowing. There could be dirt or carbon holding a valve open. They look like thick feeler gauges stuck in the block of aluminum.

Look at post #12 of this thread. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...go-dont-2.html

Those are reed valves.

Reed valves, or fuel pump are your only two options for this problem. I'm still suspicious of the fuel pump.

Let's eliminate the valves first, and then move on from there.

While you have the reed block off of the cylinder, take a look at your piston. There shouldn't be any deep scratches. The rings should be there, and you should be seeing two square holes in the side of the piston.

The fuel/air mixture enters those square holes. It goes under the piston, travels through the bottom end of the engine to lubricate all of the bearings, and then up the other side to the top of the piston. The two stroke engine is a fascinating piece of engineering.
