Thanks. I like the all black better. Here's mine.

I went to their website and downloaded their Gen3 manual. It still uses a user installed motor temperature sensor, a user installed speed sensor, that counts pulses. One pulse per revolution, so you enter tire circumference, optional external power only says use a key switched power source from 12 to 48 volts. I made sure I downloaded the Gen 3 manual, but they may have something specific to RXVs. I'd think speed would be easier if it came from the controller. One less sensor to install and that may go bad. Dunno if RXV motors have a temp sensor inside the stator windings, but if they do, that would be superior to an externally mounted temp sensor. Voltage can pretty much come from anywhere, though they recommend key switched. Mine is connector to a 10 position rotary switch that's off, pack, batteries 1 - 8, aux battery.

I did, but I didn't know the source, and didn't see it in their manual. Not really important, I'm just curious. Does it get speed and temp from the controller?

The RXV has a temperature sensor embedded in the windings. The speed encoder is dual channel 5V pulses. Phase differential shows motor spin direction, pulse rate indicates RPM.

The CAN bus signal digitally communicates SOC percentage only on the RXV by default, without being queried for it. The 2Five rotates through a number of data sequences, as it provides information to the speedometer display. The device connected identifies itself to the controller, so the controller provides the data that the device is requiring.

So does that mean yes? And I can use the red and blk/white?

Your attachment on Post #3 also says, "Another option is to connect the EXRAY power wires to the KEY SWITCH RED wire and a BLACK wire that is Battery Negative."

Didn't u say this:

Thanks I read that. Can u answer my question?

I can for getting pack positive from solenoid and pack negative at battery. What I can't answer, because I don't know, is whether their suggestion about using the CAN wires are safe. I'm not even their suggestion to use the key switch is safe, but there are folks who do know.

There is a difference between a reducer that pulls 10 amps, and a volt meter/clock/temp/odo/speedo, which is in the milliamps range.
