Replace resistors or not???
Is there any need to replace resistors on my cart if things are running fine? Any way to test if they need to be replaced?
Just trying to figure out if I need to spend the extra money replacing these while I'm replacing the wires. Thanks. |

Re: Replace resistors or not???
You should be able to see wear (burnt, gettin' thin in spots) on them. If they appear okay, then you should be fine...

Re: Replace resistors or not???
There is a simple test. You will need a small hill for this.
Place 2 strips of beacon on the resistor coils and climb the hill slowly. Results will vary.....But as long as the beacon is crisp and ready to eat = resistors good |

Re: Replace resistors or not???
Beacon? Unless you meant "Bacon". Now I`ve heard of eating light, but that taking it to the extreme......If you put bread there too would that then be light toast?

Re: Replace resistors or not???
I've used my cart for a lot of things, some need not be mentiond
I guess cooking bacon isn't any worse. I think to start with though, I will take the path of inspecting the darn things and look for thining spots. |

As long as they are tight and not touching together you
should be good to go. These things will start a fire in tall grass. A friend drove to his deer stand one morning before dawn, parked it in a tall grass patch. He got up in his stand and saw something burning in the field. He told me he didn't run, but flew down. He got to it in time. |

Re: Replace resistors or not???
I had no idea they got that hot. Should have expected it though since they are pretty protected so you can't touch them.
They look pretty good. |
