Can anybody help. My friend has just bought a 1984 club car with Kawasaki kf82 engine. The buggy runs well but the battery keeps going flat after around one and a half rounds of golf. Prior to buying the buggy the previous owner fitted a new starter/ generator. A new 12v 41AH battery has been fitted, also a new voltage regulator and solenoid. All the earth connections have been cleaned and even new micro switches fitted. There is an issue with the drive clutch being jammed on, possibly increasing the starting amps but not sure this is relevant. When running the battery voltage reading is around 14 to 15 volts. Any ideas anyone, I’m lost for ideas.

Can you elaborate on this 12v 41aH battery? Is that like one of those little 4wheeler batteries? That won’t work in a golf cart you need a real battery

Yep it's relevant. It presents an additional drag on the starter motor and thus reduces the battery voltage.

When the battery no longer starts the engine, what do you do to remedy the situation ?
