Re: Before & After
I started on it in mid September working on Saturdays and finished it last Saturday. I replaced battery racks, both front and rear springs, front cowl, added mirror. Added diamond plate kick panel, bagwell diamond plating, bought PPG paint, bedliner spray for underside. Painted trim around the roof bought seat covers. All new nuts and bolts along wth rivits and a couple of 3 foot pieces of flat steel and aluminum angle iron. I would say I ended up investing $700 for the whole restore.
I bought this cart in the hopes I could just do a paint job and have a decent cart. When I got it home and checked it out in the daylight I knew I had bought a mess. I had no other choice but to repair it. I am also one of those people who doesn't like to skimp on workmanship. I treating all the rust that could not be cut out with a rust product like Rust Dr. I double coated the bottom side with bedliner spray. I cleaned or replaced all battery cables. I coated the battery well with rubberized undercoating. I don't know if the cart is worth it but I now have $1500 invested in it. |
