Default Rear hub issues

Hello gang,
My son has a 2004 EZGO TXT PDS that keeps stripping out the rear hub.
This is the third time this has happened. I have replaced the hub with an OEM hub every time. The splines on the axle seem to look good with deep groves, and very little rounding, and assuming this was due to the the previous 3 hubs that I replaced. This time I put the nut really tight, hoping that this would help.
I know you are not suppose to put the nut extremely tight, but I do not have the torque spec for it.

What could be causing this to continue to occur?
How tight should I put the hub nut?

Thanks,
Pujo

The torque spec for the castle nut is 90-140 ft pounds. If you do not put this nut very tight it could be leading to your problems..... The Ezgo hub is the weak point of the drive system. The hubs are a weak casting - Heavy duty replacement hubs are available. Go here to learn more > http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Ezgo_Pinch_Hubs.html

Thanks guys for the reply.
Since the cart is all stock, I think the issue my be me not tightening the nut enough. I hope that now that I have installed the nut with a hammer wrench, I may have the issue fixed. If not I will be purchasing a set from you Scottyb.

Thanks,
Pujo

My son is 19 yrs, and is Autistic.

About the only thing he enjoys is riding his police car golf cart, and looking at youtube video's of whatever is on his mind. It was a challenge to teach him the safety rules while driving his cart, but after 6 years, and 2 sets of batteries, he pretty much has it figured out. If he could, he would ride this thing from sun up, to sun down. Never gets old to him.

With all the bells, whistles, sirens, and light bar to boot.
All the local & state police come ride with him from time to time.
They all know him, and take him riding in their cruiser when they can.
He has also used the cart in local parades, with a state or local officer riding with him. Its great to see these agencies take their time to stop by and chat with him.

Didn't mean to rattle on.......sorry.
