Default Battery cut off

I've got a 2009 Fairplay (48c) that has the typical battery drain when parked.

I am thinking that a battery cut off switch would certainly help make it easier to deal with the problem. Definitely easier than pulling the battery cable, battery power meter wire, and the speedometer power cable.

I'm looking at this: http://www.defender.com/product3.jsp...0060&id=589840

Just wondering if the 500A (intermittent) and 300A (Continuous) rating will be sufficient when the cart is being run (not knowing what the amp draw is when the cart is being run)...

Any thoughts?

That should be plenty, i think the stock controller draws around 300a peak.

Appreciate that.

I'm going to install a couple small switches to cut the power to the charge indicator and the speedo unit, as those seem to be the culprits in the "parasitic drain" as the guy at Lester (the battery charger guys) claims.

Lester even sent me a upgraded circuit board for the charger, but that didn't seem to help.

According to Lester, the original charger cannot keep due to this constant power draw, so you never get a full charge.

I also mentioned that the charger won't automatically begin charging if, after going through a charging cycle, it cuts off and is left plugged into the 120v outlet. The only way to get it to start charging again, is to unplug from the cart, and plug back in.

Never got an answer to that, so I suppose they don't know, or don't want to deal with it.
