Smile 30 MPH club car ?

Hi all,

Is it possible to get a gas club car to run 30 MPH?

If so, what year and model will work best? Got no problem doing a lift and bigger wheel/tire modification.

Can the 30 MPH be done with a modified "stock" motor, or am I into a big block conversion?

I would appreciate your thoughts.

THANKS

You could probably do it with high speed gears on a stock engine. It will hurt the torque some, so be aware. That's probably the cheapest way to get there, with some trade off. What are you looking to use the cart for?

Don't golf. For use in Sun Lakes, AZ. Really flat, no hills, all pavement. Just for running around the 'hood.

We had an electric '05 Precedent, that I got it to run a little over 30 mph - high speed motor, high speed gear, front disk brakes. Just got tired of the batteries and trying to keep them alive in the summer time garage heat, and the mess they made.

So what year and model would be best?

thanks

You can hit 30mph with 97 up ds.you will need 23 inch tires.you have to remove ground from rpm limiter.get cheap tach. Adjust governer to run 4100rpm. 290 engine will hold up best.

This assumes clutches and drive belt are in good condition.

No some have 350.you have to run 4100 rpm to get 30mph. 350 engines are more likely to have problems at that rpm.

So how do I tell the difference between a 290 engine and a 350 engine?

Is it possible to get a gas Precedent to 30 MPH?

Thanks

My experience is with ds. Precedents parts are more expensive. 290 engines have solid lifters.
