will tires and wheels fit 1999 ezgo

just purchased a 1999 ez go. plan to add a 4' economy lift but wanted to ask if anyone knows if 205/30-12 tires with 12' wheels would fit on cart.

unsure how to how the read the tire dimensions. directions say 4' lift kit rated for up to 22' tire but not sure of the height of the 205/30-12 tire.

A 205/30-12 tire has a nominal diameter of 16.8", that is slightly smaller then a stock golf course tire. It would look funny with a 4" lift IMO.

YES they will fit.........you can easily fit a 20" tall tire with NO lift at all. Here are the dimensions for a 215/50/12

Diameter inches (mm) 20.46 (519.

Width inches (mm) 8.46 (215)

Circum. inches (mm) 64.29 (1633)

Sidewall Height inches (mm) 4.23 (107.5)

To calculate the overall height of the tire, it's pretty simple..

205/50/12

The first number is the tread width (mm)

The second is the sidewall height as a percentage of tread width (50% of 205=102.5mm)

The third, is obviously the rim diameter

The overall height would be rim diameter + 2 x sidewall

(You have to convert the metric sidewall to inches 25.4mm/inch)

2 x sidewall = 102.5 x 2 = 205 mm
2 x sidewall = 205mm/25.4mm=8.07 inches

Overall height would be 12"+8.07" = 20.07"

thanks for jumping in and helping me out guys!

i ordered the set of tires and machined wheels from KJ sports already mounted so once they arrive i'll have to switch out the tires to gain additional tire height and make the lift look better. most likely i'll see if i can trade someone and then put the difference in for the larger tire

also, since it'll look a bit off with a lift i'll hold onto to the lift until i get some larger tires. i tried to upload some pics of the cart and wheels so hopefully it went through.

once i have them on i'll put up some more pics

Put the tires and wheels on without the lift. You might be surprised how well it looks.

Well he asked about 205/30-12 tires which are SMALLER then stock golf cart tires. He won't need a lift. It will look stupid with a lift.

I know. That is why I want him to try the wheels and tires first. Maybe he will like it well enough to forget about the lift.
