over charged battery
I have had some problems with my 48v golf car in charging. I am unable to charge the batteries. it has 6x8volt batteries on board. on doing a test on each battery I found that the last battery in the sequence gives a reading of 11.6 volts. will this affect the charging and the car no longer runs?

Re: over charged battery
Some info on batteries
http://jgdarden.com/batteryfaq/carfaq16.htm This creation of hard crystals is commonly called permanent or hard "sulfation". When it is present, the battery shows a higher voltage than its true voltage; thus, fooling the voltage regulator or smart charger into thinking that the battery is fully charged. |

Re: over charged battery
some things we need to know
model of cart , year ? name of charger ? what is the voltage of the entire pack ? when was reading of 11.6 taken, after a full charge or hours later ? over voltage on one battery is not a reason for the cart not to run |

Re: over charged battery
the club car I have just bought is a 2004. (AQ) DS electric IQ 48volt REGEN 2. the guy sold it to me said he was having problems with charging it and the batteries were only 10 months old? he also said the car stated to run slower and in the end stopped altogether and no longer able to charge it. I have done a few tests on it from reading through the tips on this site but I am having no luck as yet. the voltage reading across all the batteries is 47volts but when I connect the positive and negative leads it drops to 22 volts. ( I am loosing the will to live..lol)
