i agree the old marathon is not the best choice but i sold the engine i had in it so theres no turning back now

Could you put a remote filter kit on it and get ya a little more room that way?

If you remove the front cross mount all together and cut all the extra crap off the rear,you could run a plate like I did and possibly get away without lenghtening the swingarm.Do away with the rubber mounts also.You could go to a one cable set-up and that would free up the area where the cables mount(get rid of that bracket).Check out my pics of my set up out of the cart(page 2).Maybe it can give you some kind of idea.It is easiest to do if you pull the swingarm out of the cart.Depending on what kind of bend you put in the engine plate will determine how high the engine sits under the seat.Good luck P.M. got a little ways today, i thinks it's getting closer! i loaded these pictures in the photo bucket and i thought i'd post em.

i pulled the rear engine mount and cut the front mount brackets off the swing arm then i cut though the tubes on the rear engine mount

then i found some round stock that fit inside the tube so i flipped the center of the mount over and tacked it up
