Default 94 Club Car DS controller?

Hello guys,I currently have a 94 club car DS 36Volt cart with a Vglide and controller "Curtis 1204-015",My problem is as soon as I press the pedal the cart is at full speed, doesn't get there gradually it's full speed or no speed. In both forward and reverse.Full speed is reached on the first click barely pushing the pedal, pushing it further does nothing. I am pretty sure I have narrowed it down to the controller but want to make sure.I checked the Vglide, all the resistors are reading correct OHMS when tested on volt meter.I read this is a 0 to 5k ohms system.I looked up all the resistors values and they all checked out. I then probed the white and black wires going from the vglide to the controller and checked the ohms. Pedal up 0 ohms each step in the v glide showes different ohms while gradually going to full throttle, pedal floored was 4.9kohms.Pretty close to 5,so my question is,is it the controller faulty making it go full speed at the slightest touch of the pedal? Thanks in advance!-Ron

They only made those carts 2 years. You can also measure what the controller is putting out to the motor between the M- on the controller and the B-. The voltage should be about ~36vdc (or pack voltage) when the pedal is pushed just enough to engage the solenoid and then decreasing to 0vdc when the pedal is pushed all the way to the floor. If yours is staying close to 0vdc or does not fluctuate with the pedal movement, then you know the controller has failed.

Yes it stays at almost 0 volts when to the floor..also what I just noticed was when I unhook the 2 small wires that go from.the vglide to the back of the controller 'Throttle input wires' the cart still works with or with out them hooked up..thought that was kinda weird..I traced.all the wires and they all matched to the diagram..so I guess it's safe to say its the curtis controller? Anyone have one of these rare beautys for sale?😁

Thanks for the referral sir,

The Alltrax SR Series controller would be a great replacement. It can be setup for the 0-5k 2-wire throttle to match the factory throttle setup. A 300 amp version of the SR would be a direct drop-in replacement and would not require any wiring modifications.

Figured I would update the thread, sent the controller to be rebuilt and the builder said the controller had a leaking capacitor, and also a broken thermal sensor.I believe he said the capacitor was causing the full throttle reponse.Anyways it runs like a dream now.Be safe and thanks for the help gentlemen.

I did, I had the controller sent off due to when pressing the pedal the slightest bit would send the car into full throttle I took it off and got it rebuilt and that is what fixed the problem the cart runs and drives as it should, very smooth throttle reponse now.
