Default Arching wire

Was hearing arching from under the seat when gently pressing the gas pedal on my 02 36v cart. Found where a wire going from the V glide to The resistor bar has melted the bar and the nut the wire is attached to is kind of floating. When I push the pedal, I can see it arching.
What can I do?
Thanks
Scott

Replace all the melted pieces or convert it to solid state speed control.

I'd highly recommend converting to solid state. Very much worth it in the long run.

Thanks for the info,.conversion certainly sounds like the way to go but this is a second cart we have, not sure I want to put all that into it right now. There's a bar running across.that each wire from the v glide bolts to a coil. One of those has melted the bar leaving the nut with wire attached to cool almost dangling. Gonna try to figure out how to.relair that spot, just dont know what s causing the burn and arching.
Thanks

Will see if I can get a wrench on it, after I disconnect the batteries.
