love this drag GB, is that the biggest AC from HPGC? Peak HP?
What voltage(72?), controller(curtis?) and power source you using... if you don't mind to share the details, which I think you would!

Hey Gaston, how you been? I would love to tell you all about my new drag cart. WE are very proud the way it turned out. Three years of planning & saving & 6 months of building. Ok where to start.

The voltage. 108 volts. The controller, yes it is a Curtis. The peak HP? As you know HP depends on the voltage. And HPGC only takes them to 96 volts. Some where around 40 to 50 HP. So at 108 volts I'm guessing around 60 HP. But don’t hold me to that.

And now for the power source. 108 volt pack of A123 Lithium Ion Batteries pushing a total voltage of 128 volts. Now this is the biggest AC power plant
that HPGC makes, But don’t look for it in a golf cart store. I almost had to sign a waiver to get this one.

It doesn’t carry a lot of speed but I should get at least 2 or 3 more sec. out of it. Feel free to ask anything about the cart.

Are you jokin'?

That's a hell of configuration!
On the peak HP I was asking for the rated, but very informational thanks!
By the way, I am not trying to build my self a drag, I have no money for that now, just want to learn. Wish to build one someday!
On the controller, is the 1238-75? or how do you achieve the controller to 108v? What you use for charge that -dream- battery pack? 6:1 gears?
how heavy, AH, and size of battery pack? I've seen a picture of it -guessing- on your profile...
May be too much to ask, but how much did it hurt this beauty?

I am reading all the threads you started regarding your drag but short questions think wont bother you?

The controller we use can handle 130 max volts. Anything over that & the controller wont come on. So we had to figure out the max voltage on each battery to come up with the main packs #S. So the main pack 108 volts of A123 Lithium Ion Batteries will charge up to 130 volts. WE split the pack into 3 smaller packs. Know we had 3 Ion Lithium BMS chargers made up to shut down for a total of 128 max volts. The pack it self is only 97 lbs.

The pack also has a grand total of 260 volts if it was just run in series. But for now it is ran in parallel & series. 504 single batteries.

The cart with BJ in it is 500 lbs. Yes 6:1 gears for the first time out.

''May be too much to ask, but how much did it hurt this beauty?''
It’s not too much to ask, but it is to much to expect a answer too.

When I first decided to get a cart for my son and I to work on as a project....

I had NO IDEA, what the real possibilities were.

All I can say is, "DANG, this is gonna be fun"

As I look at this site, I just keep thinking of all the possibilities.

Who would have ever thought of a golf cart drag racing?

Yea, I need a plan... and fast!
