Preventing battery damage from underneath
took a look at the new cart yesterday and noticed that the batteries are just sitting on rails and are open underneath.
The way I figure it is that this cart will see some trails and bumpy roads that a normal golf cart wouldn't. Is there something I should do to protect them from objects popping up and cracking the battery cases? |

Re: Preventing battery damage from underneath
it usually isn't a problem... but there is no harm in putting a piece of sheet steel underneath them...

Re: Preventing battery damage from underneath
While you have them out, I'd sand and wash the entire battery compartment and get some truck bed liner in cans at AutoZone or a place like that. Do that after you tack in a few pieces of thin sheet metal in the trays. Don't put too much were there is no lip to hold the batteries in place, though.

Re: Preventing battery damage from underneath
LOL, i've seen it all.... from the kids who drove their granddads car into the water, all the way to the person who thought just jumping the batteries straight to the motor was a good idea (without the wheel jacked up)...
ultimately the best defense against destructive kids, is to make them drive it right, or take away the keys.... if they are at risk of causing that much damage, they are risking their lives on that cart... |
