Default Can I use parts from 01 to upgrade resistor cart??

I have a early 2001 series 36v cart that runs good, I'd like to upgrade my 88 Marathon and lose the toaster oven, I reallly like the Marathon and would rather keep it than the 2001. Just wanted to know if I could take all the componets off the 01 and make them work on the 88??? Thanks

It would probably be much easier to sell the 2001 cart and use the money to get "scottyb's" conversion kit! That way you'll have an upgrade too!

Gave that some thought also, just wasn't sure if I would be able to upgrade the motor at a later date of if I would need the rearend from a newer model to get a good motor upgrade

I'm not sure about the older motors mounting. Hang on a bit and I'm sure someone will know this. By the way, if your cart is running fine now, your present motor will work great with the conversion kit!

If your 88 motor runs good, it will be fine with the Scottyb upgrade kit. I would sell the 2001 and use the cash to put into the 88 since that's the one you want to keep.

Thanks for all the advise, think I'm going to upgrade with the Socttyb kit.

At issue will be the throttle input device. You will need to install an ITS throttle system to use the 01 controller. We considered this when designing the conversion kit but the high cost and complicated install led us back to the good old potentiometer.
