Default battery question

we have a 36 volt Cart and we are havin aproblem with it holdin a charge.I think the battries are Frozen. they seem to be bulgin a bit. we have had the timed charger on it and it still isn't doing any good. do we have to replace the battries? or just wait for them to thaw? any thoughts

It is hard to freeze a charged battery.As charging creats heat... Bulging sides is a sign of overcharging or just plain old and done in batteries. Sounds like you may need new. How old are they and what does the voltmeter say?

The batteries are suppose to be just over a year. we just noticed the bulgeing this week. it dosen't have a meter on it

Every electric cart owner needs to have a voltmeter. Do not let the batteries set flat for extended times....as that alone can kill them . If you have no tools check the water levels ( distilled water only) and charge. The year of manufacture is stamped into the lead post base. I yr old 07 or 06?
