Trojan hydro link
I have read a lot about these being junk but have not heard specifically about Trojan brand it came already on my cart. What are your thoughts on this? Also what model specific is this 8 volt battery.

Re: Trojan hydro link
That is the DC-8
As to the hydrolink: The problem with them is if they malfunction, a cell will be under or overfilled and you won't know it. It's a problem either way. Seem to be more bad comments than good. I don't have personal experience with them. http://www.trojanbattery.com/pdf/dat...ata_Sheets.pdf |

Re: Trojan hydro link
Yup not much love here for watering systems. I like to take a peek every two weeks just to know where things are .

Re: Trojan hydro link
Dc-8v is a lower rated version of the T-875. I have been having a higher rate of early failures with these, no like them. I can tell by the presence of battery "serial numbers", those came from the ezgo factory. A proper working water system is a nice, convenient thing. A not-working water system is a battery killer. Which do you have? Only way to find out is periodically remove them and check the water level yourself. That defeats the whole purpose of a watering system in the first place. My other dislike of the Trojan water system is its "eye" only looks at one cell of each battery.

Re: Trojan hydro link
I use a Pro=Fill SPWS without issue for three years now. Once in a while pop the caps and eyeball the water level to be sure.

Re: Trojan hydro link
Almost forgot the other "neat feature" of a water system. If 1 cell "pops", the water system can provide a conduit for the flame to travel to (and explode) all the other cells. Neato! I was driving this one, it rattled the windows in the building. This is true of all the fill systems, not just Hydrolink.

Re: Trojan hydro link
Have had A LOT of issues with the Trojan hydro link systems. Found many floats broke and just floating around inside battery cells and floats stuck closed. We use the BFS systems. The good part is they use clear tubing to watch water fill the cells and they have a sight glass that lets you know where the water level is. It is still a good idea to manually check the cells periodically.
