Battery rack replacement
Who has replaced a battery rack on a TXT cart? Did the rear body need to be removed? Any special tips I should be aware of?

Re: Battery rack replacement
It's a wrestle. There are 2 Torx head screws in the floor pan holding the rack in.
These screw tabs fit under the rear body and are a bugger to get to - not impossible but - as much as you like to hose your cart off, count on them being miserably rusted in place. Start now applying liquid wrench weekly for midsummer removal |

I see them, Scotty. Looks like the body needs to be removed?

Re: Battery rack replacement
No, it's a wrestle but the body does not need to be removed. Remove the rear bolts and lift the rear first sliding the tabs out from under the body in front

Re: Battery rack replacement
I've done several of these bat tray replacements. Trust me, it's a lot easier if you remove the rear body. As noted, it is possible without removing the rear body, but it's a real bear.

Re: Battery rack replacement
Of course the rack R&R is easier without the body but, when you look at R&R the roof, rear body ( F&R and charge plug connections) and possibly a rear seat .... well it's just a lot quicker and it's takes less time to wrestle the bear.
But to each their own. |

Sure wish someone would make a video DIY on replacing the battery rack.
As Scottyb points out... With a rear seat installed, removing without taking the body off would seem to be preferred to me. I wonder if it would help, removing a couple of the rivets near the star bolt? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Re: Battery rack replacement
The cart in question is not mine, belongs to my work. It has a rear bed/box and a roof. I may just remove the rear body anyway. I can have this one out of commission for a while without issue. Thank guys.

Take the 4 bolts out.... stand in the middle of the battery bay facing the rear & give it a pull if it don't come out take the cart apart |

Re: Battery rack replacement
If your rack is shot cut it in half and take it out in two pieces, no wrestling to getting the old one out
