Default G22 no consistent fuel

I bought a running and driving 2006 G22. After I replaced the fuel filter, the fuel.pump ran dry. It struggles to start now. When it does start, it doesn't have dependable power.
When I disconnect the impulse fuel pump and crank the engine, fuel pumps at first but then tapers off.

Do the easy stuff first.
Pressurize the tank and listen/look for a cracked line. The fuel pump would much rather suck air than gas. The plastic 90 degree elbow coming out of the tank is a good place to look for a crack.

Pull the pulse line off of the pump and see if you can blow through it without restriction. The pulse line has been known to get pinched under the airbox.

Its rare but have the screws that hold the pump together come loose?

Its just as rare for the pump to fail. If you have gotten this far, take the pump apart and see if it is full of crud.

The fuel pickup tube in my G22 was cracked and when the fuel level dropped below the crack, it sucked nothing but air. Any air leak in any of the lines/tubes/fittings will create fuel flow problems.

Thank you for your replies. Turns out to be low compression, blown head gasket.

I replaced the head gasket. It starts immediately and has all the power it needs.
