1979 Yamaha G1 Largest Wheels?
Hey All,
I picked up a 1979 Yamaha G1 buggie with the factory diamond plate dump box body. I'd love to lift the buggie a little to place larger tires on it, but I'm reading there aren't any lift kits made for this year G1. If this is true, what is the largest tire and rim that I can place on this buggie without a lift? Thanks! Ed |

I think the issue with the early G1's was they had a different spindle than the later ones and that's why the lifts won't fit. The a arms will bolt up but the spindles won't. You'll have to get some later model spindles to make it work, but it is doable. Not sure but the used market might be the best route for the spindles.

You will need to up grade to a 1983 - 1985 spindles to get the jakes 6 inch lift kit to work. Go to Lifted Golf Cart look up the link lable to 1979 lift golf cart. This guy did it right and I am working on mine as we speak.

No the 79 hubs will not work on the newer spindles. Sorry for not getting back sooner with you sir. To much overtime at work.
