94 ds will mot move possible short
94 ds...36v...good charge, was running fine in forward, switched to reverse then dead. Cart will now not move. State of charge meter now goes to 0 when I put it in forward and step on pedel. When I let off pedel, voltage comes back up.....I put a meter on it and while pedel is depressed, voltage falls tp 25v. Same thing in reverse. I do not know where to start....the solenoid does click...another symptom, there is a 36 to 12v converter, whrn I turn on the lights, the voltage drops off the same as stated above....something seems to be loading the system drastically.

Re: 94 ds will mot move possible short
Is it a resistor coil or controller drive system?

Sounds like very weak batteries. Any idea how old they are?

A bad connection or a bad battery can do this. Since the SOC meter is dropping, something in your battery pack (battery or cable) has high resistance.

My guess is the forward reverse is shorted inside and when you mash pedal it tries to go forward and reverse at the same time. That is a big load that would drop voltage a lot.

Re: 94 ds will mot move possible short
My thoughts. If you had a short across fully charged batteries you would know real quick. You would either have a fire, something would melt or smell something burning. Since you didn't mention any of that it makes me thing your batteries might be dead. If not the batteries I go along with VA's above thoughts about a bad connection. One other thing I would not rely on the SOC meter for accurate voltage measurements since it relys on the full pack voltage to power and turn it on.
