It makes a difference which way you install the magnet, I think someone said.

Speed sensor is a wire that connects the "Top Hat" sensor to the computer. The magnet goes under that. I looked and they don't say it has to be a specific way. Question... What are the code interpetations?
Code 1= ?MPH
Code 2= ?MPH
Code 3= ?MPH
Code 4= ?MPH
Code 5= ?MPH

For a 2010 IQ cart the codes are:

The speed sensor has the electronics (hal effect sensor) that senses the magnet poles.

The GE motor magnet has a proper orientation since the sensor is on the "face" of the magnet.

The magnet inside the "top hat" sensor of the ADC motors does not have any particular orientation (the sensor is on the perimeter of the magnet).

Even if the buzzer is not working, the cart should offer resistance to movement when pushed and the tow/run switch is on run.

I will try the runaway deal again tomorrow... No matter what I do on flat pavement the cart won't go beyond 9 mph. That was before, and after installing new sensor and new high speed magnet.

How can I easily tell which magnet is which because the company that sent the sensor and magnet didn't designate anything... They shipped a sensor and magnet, and a seperate magnet. (That's the one I installed thinking it was the High Speed one)

Here is a way to test the sensor and controller signals:

There are other posts on that thread that discuss the correct wire colors for the OEM sensor.

To tell how many poles the sensor magnet has, You just need a small magnet.

Put a marking in the sensor magnet the first time the small magnet gets attracted to the sensor magnet, then without changing the orientation of the small magnet You are holding, move it around the perimeter of the sensor magnet and see how many times it gets attracted and repelled.

You should have an even number of North/South poles in the sensor magnet.

The OEM magnet has 8 poles (4-North and 4-South).

The Speed magnet only has 4 poles (2-North and 2-South).

Is it a Chinese sensor? What are the wire colors on the sensor? I think we are wasting time talking about magnets. The magnet will work no matter which way you install it.
