Default Club Car IQ

What is the difference between the mcor and obc? Aren't they both the same thing?

MCOR is the (Motor Controller Output Regulator). It is a black box mounted next to the accelerator pedal. It's purpose is to provide a throttle signal to the controller. The OBC is an On-Board computer. It is responsible for controlling the battery charger of the golf car. It also provides a solenoid lock-out feature that keeps you from being able to drive the car while charging.

The MCOR is a sealed unit. There is no adjustment on it. If you're not reaching wide open throttle, you may adjust (Shim) the drive bar where it attaches to the accelerator pedal if it's on a DS model.

While David is correct about them being 2 different things - they are almost identical. Notice ...
1. They both are the source of most of the repair threads in this section.
2. They both are sealed units you cannot repair.
3. They both disable the cart when not working right.
4. They both make you think something else is wrong with the cart when they fail.
5. They are both uniquely Club Car designed and engineered.
6. well, you catch my drift

THIS is exactly why I drive a cart that has neither device.

V-Glide (multi-step pot style) FTW!!!

That's right Scottyb. The MCORs break all the time. Everybody needs to go to my website right now and buy a spare.
