bought a Grip Tools 3000 lb 12 Volt Electric ATV Winch for my 2009 ezgo rxv today. now i need to find snow plow for it then figure out how to make it all work.

There was a 40" snow thrower for a Wheel Horse on the local CL a few weeks ago. That, a 12hp horizonal shaft and a golf cart... Hmmmm...?

You tube & search are your friends.Lots of ideas.Here's how I did mine,and the cost.

Craftsman plow off of Craig's list........50.00
Harbor Fright 2 ton winch.........43.00 (on sale after coupon) && 10.00 for two year warranty.
Harbor Fright atv reciver.....13.00
Harbor Freight 10 gauge jumper cables (for wiring)....10.00(cheaper than buying wire and nice and flexible)
Mis.wire connectors..........8.00
Mis hardware(ring bolt,grade eight bolt for mounting winch & plow to receiver)...........10.00

Just for the record , I buy nothing from Harbor Freight with out a 20% off coupon.......lol

drop hitch for mounting plow,I had.Harbor Freight cost around 50.00 bucks.

Total outlay................about 150.00

I mounted everything so I can remove the plow in about 5 minuets.The atv hitch is mounted with a one inch bolt,but I chose to weld "braces" to it to keep it from moving side to side.{just in case) The wiring has a 10 gauge plug for easy disconnect.The control box is mounted under the seat.The winch is hooked up under the "hood" to the frame with a 1" ring bolt. The plow itself is mounted to the atv receiver with a hitch pin.

I had some concern about the weight ,but it seems to be unfounded.But I am going to install some coil over shocks just for the hell of it.

I raised and lowered the plow at least 50 time and everything seems to be fine.Also ,I pushed against a big rock in my yard and nothing broke loose,time will tell.The only thing you might want to do is remove some of the cable,mine came with 50".I cut forty feet off and put it aside.

Dirt, I'm afraid you might be giving that front axel a little too much credit! I think you may roll your leaf springs if you try to push a heavy snow.......

Yea.I thought about that.If you look on you tube at some of the manufactured ones,they mount the whole thing,winch and all to the axle.

Like I said,I pushed against a rather large rock ,with no apparent problems.The other thing is that it IS snow.Moves around pretty easy.I have the feet on the plow set up about 1/2 inch so I don't hit any cracks on the driveway or sidewalk.The real weight of the plow is being carried by the frame under the cowl.

Time with tell.I'll just have to keep the welder plugged in.....
